Critter Collecting, Discover what lives in the Kokosing River!
Join Knox County Park District Summer Intern, Macy Helser and she leads a Critter Collecting workshop. The date is Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kokosing Gap Canoe Access, 17812 Lower Gambier Rd. Mount Vernon. Come explore the Kokosing Scenic River and learn about all the cool critters that live in and around the water. She will be focusing on macroinvertebrates, and what they can tell us about the quality of our water. Attendees will practice making hypotheses and scientific observations, all while having a great time in the water and discovering amazing creatures! This program is for ages six years old and up. Don’t forget your life jacket (Park District has some to lend), water bottle, and bring the whole family
