Welcome to Centerburg located in Hilliar Township and known as the Geographical Center of Ohio. It is also home to the Heart of Ohio multi-use trail where our first Point of Interest begins. As you visit the Heart of Ohio Trail, we want you to learn of the history of Ohio Railroads and their significance to the growth of these towns.

Welcome to Mount Liberty another trail town on the Heart of Ohio multi-use trail where three Geocaches are located. As you discover areas on the Heart of Ohio Trail, imagine the importance and many benefits of the railroad through our trail towns. Before automobiles and good roads, recreational day trips of any distance were chosen if the desired destination was reasonably close to a railroad.

Welcome to Mount Vernon! The Kokosing Gap Trail and the Kokosing River are just two attractions to our hometown. Our GeoTrail will welcomes you and we hope you enjoy learning of the town and its rich railroad history. As you discover the Kokosing Gap Trail, imagine the busy rail line of the Penn Central and the many businesses that opened as the railway began to thrive.

Welcome to Phillips Park, a Mount Vernon City Park located on a connector trail to the Kokosing Gap Trail. Phillips Park is a busy city park throughout the summer months as Mount Vernon Little League Baseball games are played. And with baseball comes tradition, which might include a trip to get ice cream for the winning team. There are a few ice cream shops in town but one to call your attention to is Round Hill Dairy.

Welcome to Gambier, a village along the Kokosing Gap Trail and home to Kenyon College. As you visit the area we want you to learn the history of Ohio Railroads and their significance to the growth of these towns. In the late 90’s, Knox County began to explore the idea of taking the abandoned rail beds and converting them to a multi-use recreational trail. This section of the trail is part of the greater rail trail known as the Ohio to Erie Trail, consisting of 326 miles from Cincinnati to Cleveland.

Welcome to Gambier , a village along the Kokosing Gap Trail and home to Kenyon College. The once occupied Pennsylvania railroad has served as an important part of the Kenyon story for a century and a half. Students at the College tended to make their arrivals to and departures from the campus at the village’s station, which was situated at the bottom of the College hill.

Welccome to Danville, the village where the Kokosing Gap Trail ends and the Mohican Valley Trail begins. As you visit the area we want you to learn the history of Ohio Railroads and their significance to the growth of these towns. All Aboard to the Bridge of Dreams
Welcome to the Bridge of Dreams on the Mohican Valley Trail. This 4.5-mile trail begins in Danville and stretches to Brinkhaven and ends at the Holmes County line. A group of volunteers successfully worked with the Knox County Commissioners and independently raised funds to develop the 4.5 mile Mohican Valley Trail. The trail features the beautiful Bridge of Dreams, a 370-foot covered bridge across the Mohican River valley.
All Aboard to Brinkhaven
Welcome to Brinkhaven, also known as Gann and Mount Holly on the Mohican Valley Trail. The village of Brinkhaven (formerly known as Gann) was incorporated in 1892 although it had been in existence for about 20 years on a property donated by William Gann. It is situated on the east side of the Mohican River. The name was changed to Gann by the railroad president of the Cleveland, Mt Vernon and Delaware Railroad in honor of George Gann.
