Knox County contains an abundance of trails with diverse uses. The Kokosing Gap Trail from the C. A. & C. Depot at 501 S. Main St. Mount Vernon 43050 to Danville offers a smooth, high-grade asphalt surface perfect for roller blades, tour bikes and/or strollers.  The Heart of Ohio Trail from the C. A. & C. Depot at 501 S. Main St. Mount Vernon 43050 to Centerburg and beyond offers a lovely walking and biking surface with the same smooth, high-grade asphalt surface. The Mohican Valley Trail now offers bikers, horse riders and horse and buggy a chipped and sealed asphalt surface.  Depending on the season, no more dust or mud trail to the Holmes County line!  The 4.5 Mohican Valley Trail is all paved.  All three rails-to-trails form the close to 35 mile Knox County portion of the Ohio to Erie Trail, a 330-mile mostly off-road trail from the Ohio River to Lake Erie.

Whatever type of trail experience you seek, you will find it on one of Knox County’s trails.
